WHO WE ARE

Revolution Me Film Festival was established in 2016 by filmmaker Maria Palacio to nurture other emerging filmmakers in the field. the festival has grown successfully over the years showcasing diverse films by filmmakers from around the world. In 2020, Revolution Me Film Festival opened its festival to high school students, garnering 32 films from the USA, Spain, Indonesia and France in it’s first year. This year, the festival will take place November 8-10 at bkONE Productions theater in Industry City.

Revolution Me Media Lab is a non-profit organization established in 2021 by Charulata Dyal offering media art programs in disciplines such as photography, screenwriting, and filmmaking. Our media lab sends professional teaching artists to students, allowing them to explore their creative expression in an established safe space. through partnerships and community organizing, RMML aims to make media arts education accessible to teens.

MEET THE DIRECTORS

Maria palacio

Maria Palacio is a Brooklyn based film producer, creative, teacher & photographer. inspired through her own experience as an up-and-coming filmmaker she established revolution me film festival in 2016 to create a forum to nurture other emerging artists in the field.

She has produced over 10 films heavily focused on women and diverse stories. Maria’s latest film, Unlocked premiered at the Chelsea film festival in 2023 in NYC. It has screened at the 2024 People’s Film Festival in Harlem NY.

Maria is currently producing three short films this summer and working on her first directed/co-produced documentary, The Fighter in Us. her documentary series is one of 89 recipients of the 2022 nyc women’s fund.

Media Lab director

Charulata dyal

Charulata has taught media and art classes to kids and adults of all ages. Combining her teaching and media art backgrounds, she -partnered with Revolution Me Festivals and founded  Revolution Me Media Lab. Her goal is to give young adults access to the creative world she had longed for as a teenager in East New York. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at NYU in Teaching and Learning with a focus on art education taught in vulnerable communities.
